Lancaster University
Research Assistant for Connected Everything Feasibility Study
This role can be for either 6 months – 4 days per week or 5 months – 5 days per week. The project must end by July 31st 2022 so an RA could start any time between November 2021 – January 2022.
The aim of the project is to create physically adaptive sportsware for cycling. Think friendly T1000 type objects/wearable exo-skeletons/skins
The successful RA will predominantly be either:
Iterating and documenting material properties generated from collaborations with chemistry to help fine tune possible material adaptations and conceptualise applications
Or
Prototyping with hardware day-to-day to further develop a current prototype used to generate physically adaptive/reprogrammable materials.
Having a PhD is desirable rather than essential. The team involves chemists and a designer. Someone with some programming knowledge and or 3D modelling and digital fabrication skills would be a great addition to the team.
