Aston University has an ongoing EU H2020 project in the area of remanufacturing of industrial equipment. The project aims to develop and demonstrate technologies and strategies to support a new paradigm for refurbishment and re-manufacturing of large industrial equipment in factories. Its ultimate goal is to save valuable resources by reusing equipment instead of discarding them. The project will establish new concepts and strategies for equipment repair and upgrade in order to gain economic benefits to the manufacturing sector. The project solution will be tested and demonstrated in real industrial case studies.
Along with the project, Aston is aiming to develop smart technology and solutions for asset condition monitoring and remanufacturing, cost modelling and smart decision marking for maintenance & remanufacturing optimisation. We are recruiting a passionate researcher interested in this research and can start soon.
You will need to have a PhD degree (or equivalent) in Manufacturing Engineering or relevant subjects, and strong track record of publication. Previous experience and knowledge on condition monitoring, reliability engineering, cost modelling and software development are advantageous.
