Summer School 2021

The University of Leeds & University of Huddersfield hosted the Connected Everything summer school from 12-14 July 2021. The  core theme this year is Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) for Connected Factories. A report from the summer school, attended by 69 delegates, can be downloaded here.

Winter Workshop 2019

“Smart Industry Workshop – Recent Advances in Industrial Digitalisation, Robotics and Automation”

The workshop was organised by Professor Ahmad Lotfi and Mr. Pedro Machado and took place from 9-11 January 2019 at Nottingham Trent University.  It featured 15 keynote talks by established researchers and also provided an opportunity for PhD and early career researchers to share their research experiences. The workshop was successful in achieving its aim to present recent advances in industrial digitalisation, robotics and automation to PhD students and early career researchers working in related fields. Participants had a great opportunity for learning, discussion and networking with fellow researchers from other institutes. The event triggered some follow-up meetings between speakers and participants for preparing proposals targeting UK funding opportunities.

Summer School 2017

The 2017 Summer School “The Machine Learning in Manufacturing Summer School: Addressing the Challenges of Industry 4.0”, which took place from 12-15 September 2017 at Warwick Manufacturing Group, University of Warwick, was a collaboration between Professor Darek Ceglarek from Warwick Manufacturing Group and Dr Rajesh Ransing from Swansea University. The Summer School was also kindly sponsored by Natural Computing Applications Forum (NCAF) and Neural Computing and Applications (NC&A) Journal.  Amongst the topics explored were Predictive Analytics and Data Visualisation in Manufacturing; Supply Chain Management and Connected Enterprise; Automated Inspection and Image Processing; and Human-Robot and Robot-Robot Interactions.
