Event Title: #StitchHack
Event Date: 11 September 2017
Stitches in time …
IOT solutions to support those in need of future additional care. Stitching together data reveals the patterns that can help you manage the ‘here and now’ and get insights on the future. This is particularly useful when it’s helping those in need of care in our communities. Legion data resources are becoming available including flows from real-time sensing.
This presents opportunities for new independent living services, management of services, individual and community empowerment – but raises some questions. What data to combine to enable and manage those services, how to present that for user engagement? How to blend real-time and historic data? Given the availability of LPWAN technology, what else could you sense and where?
Liverpool City Council is seeking the answers to those questions to build on its ‘Help to Live at Home’ services. Kindly hosted by Sensor City with its IoT UK Boost LoRaWAN capability and with fantastic support from Amazon Web Services.
#StitchHack will kick off on Monday 11 September when teams are formed around the challenges and introduced to the data/wireless assets and development environment. Teams will then work remotely for the rest of the week to work up their prototypes returning on Friday 15th September for presentation and judging. Technical support will be available throughout. You will be invited to join the #StichHack Slack on registration.
There will be trophies and prizes – and business development support for the most promising ideas. Additionally, this is an opportunity to shape services that better meet peoples’ needs. Please also note, by confirming your attendance to this event, you have agreed to any filming, video, photography that may be taken and the use of these images after the event. If you do not wish to be photographed/filmed please make us aware upon arrival at the event.
Come as a team or come as you are and join a team on the day – in either case remember to bring your laptop!
